ABSOLUTELY not! A serrated edge is usually not needed to cut the kinds of tissue these scissors are used As Jerry Glower might have said: "There's more kinds than you can shook a stick at." Just a small list: http://www.medeleq.com.au/Equipment/instruments/10.html I have scissors that have serrated edges, and regular, straight tips, curved tips, fine tips, large, medium, and small. I won't try to claim that all are suitable for fly tying. But some are, especially the mediun curved ones with Serrated blade(s).
