Tom- One of the best hospital wastes are the red disposable needle holders used in surgery. They come in every pack, and if you are friends with the orthopods you can probably get a few. They aren't needed during arthroscopy, but are still int he 'pack' they open for surgery. I get the residents to save me a few. They fit in your pocket nicely, have foam on one side and magnets on the other.
