Don't even think of it Bob. I agree with Tony. It will become brittle and crack. I've built a lot of rods. If you want to use something that does not need to be rotated, I suggest you try Perma Gloss, which is a U40 product and is a urethane rod finish. You have to build up several thin coats. I plan to use this on a Sharpe featherweight impregnated cane rod which I am about to restore. On graphite, I use flex coat light or the U40 equivalent. Hope this helps.

        Was wondering  if anyone has any experience in using acetate floss in wrapping a rod.  It is my understanding that this floss will form a tight epoxy bond on the windings without  using a 24 hour cure & rotation.
