Hi DonO
   The older Hobies had a problem with the pontoons
cracking if left in the hot sun. the caps on the
pontoons didn't have breathers in them. I drilled a
small hole in mine and I have had them for three
years. Of course I generally don't leave them in the
sun for extended periods.
