The Loop end of mine is bigger than the other end and not as tight of a
braid ???

Jimi, I got one of those too. The loop end is where you attach the tippet.
Just tie a loop in mono and interlock the two loops together. Then tie the
other end of braided leader on fly line with whatever works for you.
