John,

I found a pattern for a Krystal Midge in my notebook (from Fly Tyer 1995
autumn issue, p56):

hook: standard wet fly, #18-28
thread: 8/0 color to match ostrich herl thorax
tail:(optional). gray or cream antron. trim to length of shank. At 07:26 PM

abdoman: krystal flash, color to match the natural. (black, green, brown,
red, gold, silver or combinations). twist two strands together before
winding body.
thorax: ostrich herl, color to match natural. (green, black, brown, gray).
Two turns. You may want to trim to length after wrapping.

Personally, I like the Pearl Pupa listed in Paul Rowely's 'Fly patterns for
Stillwaters', p21.

hook: Tiemco 2457, #12-14
thread: color to match body material
rib: fine silver or gold wire
body: frostbite, flashabou or krystal flash
thorax: peacock herl
head: pearlescent glass bead

hope this helps,

Tim
