I notice most flies for the
flats are tan in color. I am not sure if this is for imitating crab,
shrimp, or baitfish. Does anyone have any insight on what I should tie up?

The correct answer to the above is "all of the above..." :-) Crazy Charlies, Chico's Bonefish Specials, Snapping Shrmip, Clouser Minnows, Carpet Crabs, small Lefty's Decievers, all good choices for beach fishing! Deceivers in 6 & 4, all others, 6 & 8.
Colors: Can never miss with Tan, but white won't be far behind. Include flashes of chartreuse and dark royal blue... Use flashabou and krystal flash sparingly, and GO FOR IT!!! Have a great trip!
