Ron,

Sounds like your epoxy is OLD or COLD.   The epoxy I use for my golf club repair gets like that after a year or two - I throw it out.   I've noticed that with new epoxy that it needs to be room temperature to "flow" correctly.  I'd think that any good epoxy would do the trick for you, even most brands of 5 minute quick-set will be crystal clear.
