I had the same problem with mine also, this was after
about 2-1/2 seasons and like you, I cleaned it
regularly. I'm still using the line and hope to get
one more season out of it. A couple of dealers I've
talked to say this is a characteristic of that
particular brand. Frankly, for the price I was hoping
for a little more use from it. So far the cracks are
relatively small and haven't made a difference in the
line's floatability. If it gets too bad, I figure I'll
smear some flexament on it and fish it till it dies. I
still really like how the line handles, but until the
maker improves the coating I probably won't buy
another right away.
