you only have that problem if you keep jumping hook size. The set screw should hold the hook firmly by itself. When I tie stuff #16 smaller I don't even need the tightening screw & I can still break 6/0 thread while tying. What type of vise you get make sure that you have the hand room to place your materials correctly. If you don't have that. You will hate any vise that you use!
