Hi All-

I know this thread has been discussed in various forms
at least a couple of times, but I thought I would ask
again. My vest, due to my love of gadgets and a
tendency to add and never remove items now weighs
about as much as I do, a considerable sum. Minimizing
is on my mind. Yesterday I tried dropping a spool of
tippet, a pair of nippers and a flybox in the pocket
of my waders. It was nice except I kept reaching for
things that weren't there, like my forceps (which I
forgot) and, of course, I decided I needed the flies
that were in a different box. A guy I met on the
Deschutes about 3 years ago was as minimalized as you
could get, he was wet wading in jean cutoffs, had a
pair of fingernail clippers on a string around his
neck, a spool of tippet in his back pocket and about
8-10 flies in a film container. I'm not sure I want to
go that minimal.

Does anyone have any recommendations about chest
packs, etc? Has anyone tried the Flyte Deck system?
Paring down the contents of my vest only works for a
little while, since if I have an empty pocket, it will
get filled with something. Thanks for any tips or
ideas.
