The book is actually a short story and can be found in Hemingway
collections. Good story. Hemingway was, if nothing else, a great
story-teller.

The Fox is a very nice small stream. It runs through the middle of the
metropolis of Seney, MI, (don't blink your eyes, you'll miss it) about
mid-way across the Upper Peninsula. If you turn North in Seney, the sand
road parallels the Fox. About 5-6 miles North is a nice little forest
service campground right on the bank of the river with 6 primitive sites
complete with toilets (privies) and running water (as long as you pump the
handle hard and fast).

Neat area.
