Where are you headed around the Park. Montana, Wyoming, Idaho? Excellent suggestions by Don O and others already. I would think if you come in August or September packing hoppers. chernobles and buggers, you should be set for any fishing around the Park. If you come in September, look for Baetis hatches, the fish turn into Pirahnas when those little baetis are coming off. Caddis pupa, prince nymphs, gold, black or brown stones, san juan worms, and flashback ptn all should work for nymphing.
If you do stop in West Yellowstone, you should also stop at Arrick's fly shop. Probably my favorite shop of all time. The fly tying section takes up half of the store and he has a bunch of off the wall materials. There is a bench and vice in the tying section if you want to try some materials. He has some of the best fly pattern selections around and a collection of insects(nymphs-adult) in jars that you can study to tie better patterns. I live in Bozeman and fish around the north end of the Park year around. I keep a fairly good fishing journal also. So if you know where you are going, or have other questions, feel free to e-mail me. >>> [EMAIL PROTECTED] 06/10/02 01:55PM >>> Good info Don. Also, if coming in to Yellowstone Park thru West Yellowstone, Mt., stop at Blue Ribbon Flies. Here is their site which has contact information. http://www.blueribbonflies.com/
