Pierre,

I beg to differ with you.  The "chat room" has a specific purpose.  One way to get in on a chat is to check into the chatroom and sit and wait until someone else checks in.  The best and most productive way is to email the VFB list and let them know you're available and then check in and wait.   You'd be surprised what you can learn about fly fishing in the chat room.  All you have to do is get in there and ask.  And, remember, if you don't know the answer, there is no DUMB question.

There, I hope this gives you a better appreciation of the chat room and how to best use it.

Cheers,

JIMMY

Hi,

here is what I do. With Outlook or Outlook Express, use a Message rule
to redirect emails coming from the list into a specific folder.

create a folder in outlook.
then menu Tools->Message rules->Mail
Then create a rule that looks like that: Apply this rule after the
message arrives Where the To line contains '[EMAIL PROTECTED]' Move it to the
VirtualFlyBox folder

Then all the emails goes in that folder and it is very easy to manage.

by the way, I think that those "chat anyone?" post are not helpful...

Subject: [VFB] Fly-Fishing and Email???

I just returned from a fly fishing trip to Western Maryland and after 3
1/2
days I find 171 emails from the [VFB] reflector in my mail box. Fellas
this
is not the way to end a fishing trip. WE NEED AN ARCHIVE so that messages
can
be scanned in bulk and WE NEED A PLACE to put mail on hold while away
without
unsubscribing.

Other reflectors offer such a service and they are free. I belong to 12
reflectors and they all have an archive and mail hold option. This
reflector
is behind the times. I would hate to have to unsubscribe each time that I
go
fishing.

Please Byard, DO SOMETHING to fix this.

George
