depending on the sixe of snail a size 12-16 hook with a hares ear body lightly palmered with a ginger hackle and a thin pearl rib is as good as any..fished wet..sub surface..if they are taking off the top a ball of beer hair on again 12-16 hooks depending on the size of snail will do the job..
