Dick's Dandy: #8 3XL streamer hook Tail Red hackle tail 3/8" long. body 9 strands of peacock herl spun into a chenille. beard red hackle tied down. wing White over black bucktail (Sparse) Do not let the wing extend past the bend of the hook more than 1/8"or the fly will foul. This fly MUST be fished with a sinking tip line. Adding split shot ruins the action of the fly. Use short and long strips with long pauses. The fish will most offen take on the pause. The fly will suspend if tied correctly. It's a simple fly to tie but very effective.
