My very best to you Wayne... I've been watching the news with dismay at the
damage. Hope and wish for the safety of you and yours.

I work in Glenwood Springs, Colorado (ground zero for the Coal Seam Fire)
and
live just 10 miles west in New Castle. They are finally starting to get
some
containment on this one, but the last few days have been pretty hairy. On
Saturday night, the fire exploded down the hills and made a run towards
Glenwood Springs. It managed to destroy about 25 homes, jumped the Colorado
River and Interstate 70, and surrounded us on 3 sides, but through the grace
of
God and many, many brave firefighters, the main part of town was saved. A
wall
of flames 100+ feet high made it within a couple of hundred yards of my
office,
and our once beautiful green hills are now charred black. Our fire is
currently at about 11,500 acres, but pales in comparison to the fire burning
south of Denver. Seeing the devastation here, I can hardly imagine what the
100,000 acre Hayman fire is like. Please, pray for rain and favorable
winds -
there are thousands of people in grave danger out here.
Thanks Guys & Gals,
Wayne Smith - Toasty List Lurker
