Yes they are tied on a curved hook, I use Mustad R50 Signature. The origional Sofa Pillow did not have a palmered hackle body. It was a smooth body using red floss and the hackle was used in front of the wing, 3-4 wraps. The Improved Sofa Pillow does have the palmered hackle through a dubbed body.
