VFBers...

The recent deluge of spam being posted to the list has resulted in my
having to make a small change to how the VFB List is configured. In
the past we have seen very few spam postings...generally this was due
to the size constraints placed on postings. Spammers generally enjoy
littering their messages with large amounts of html and graphics. But
recently we have been subjected to a few too many messages sliding
through because of the lack of both of those attributes.

My only recourse was to alter the configurations of the list software
so that only subscribed members are allowed posting privileges.

So from now on...if you want to post a message to the VFB List, it
will have to originate from your subscribed address. In other
words...if you are subscribed with the address [EMAIL PROTECTED]
and you are attempting to send a post from your work address
[EMAIL PROTECTED] will NOT go through. As with the size
limitation setting, you will only know that your message didn't get
through by noticing it's absence from your inbox. No bounced message
warnings will be generated.

I apologize for the inconvenience, but this is the only way I have to
combat the recent spam postings. Those messages were sent by non-list
members, so obviously the VFB List address has reached the dreaded
ranks of the spam attack lists. I've always known that I would have
to initiate this plan of attack eventually...all good things do end.

I detest spam mailings as much as anyone...probably more as I get in
excess of 200 of them each and every day...:-(

One other note to point out that might cause difficulties...if you
are subscribed with an address similar to [EMAIL PROTECTED],
but your return address is set as [EMAIL PROTECTED], then your posts
will not get through.

If you have any questions or concerns...give me a holler.
