That's nothin'! You should see him fish tiny 3' wide streams (Cedar Run headwaters) to a lie under a willow (or was it an apple tree) to a tiny ledge I had seen the year before with 2 nice brookies under it. B hit it perfect (and I thought my directions were not too good) but I can't remember if he caught one there or not. Must have been awestruck that he didn't catch the trees. ;-o Murf LOL Murf...It was an old apple tree just itching to eat up my caddis. Tricked it though didn't I...tucked that fly right in and under...the fish did take, but I missed her...;^) Did pretty much the same last week on "that" stream the day after you left. My Uncle was with me and I saw a riser up ahead. I was under one tree...another was hanging down over the fish and there was a pile of debris between me and the fish. When I pointed out the riser to my Uncle, he said exactly the same as you did on Cedar..."You can't get a fly in there...you'll get caught in the tree". Nothing like a challenge...I bent way down...casting the line parallel to the water and let her fly...Perfect...and she took. Nice little native brown about 11-12"...;^) keep tyin'...byard
