[VFB] Labor Day fishing

Went out to a new pond today later than I usually get out.   Caught 6 channel cats that weighed from 15 to 20 lbs. All were lip hooked or I never would have landed them.  Almost all took me down to only a few loops of backing left on the reel.  It was great fun.   Also caught 8 bass than were from 18 to 20" long.  Also caught a bunch of smaller ones from 6 to 12".    Also came home with 30 gills that hit inbetween the other fish.    I had not been to this pond before but will probably go back because it was so darn much fun.   Left the bass and cats in there.  Had to cast with the weind because it was blowing about 20 mph.  Caught most of the fish in 5 feet or less of water.  Fished from about 7:30 to 10:30 am today.   Cause I know that I will be hasseled about what fly I used I will tell you that it was a chartruse cyperts minnow.   Had to brag some cause I have never caught that many cats at one time of that many big bass.   Not sure if I would tell you where the  pond is.   Rick
