Was just checking eBay. They have a CO2 powered
fishing pole for sale. Apparently these were made in
the '50s by a company called Mark Arrow. A CO2
cartridge goes in the handle, you run the line through
the guides and stuff a special bobber (strike
indicator?) in the hollow end of the pole. Pull the
trigger and your casting problems are a thing of the
past.
Don't know what the range was, but I wouldn't want to
be on the receiving end of a size 4 lead-eyed wooly
bugger. <VBG>
