Had a great weekend on the Skagit River. The river was exceptionally clear and cold. Hooked a few nice wild rainbows. Murphy struck again, the most productive fly was the one I only had one of. I finally lost it to a steadily rising Dogwood. The fish were getting very selective. Had to get very precise with the presentation. My friend Neville kept us entertained with his usual antics; ie. underwater casting and his favourite shell game involving keys. I see inflation has found its way into the B.C. Parks Service wood sales. Hope to get back out to the river soon. Mel Hocken
