Kind of along the lines Byard suggested, I use
Workable Fixatif. It's the stuff artists spray on
charcoal and pencil sketches to keep them from
smudging. The stuff I have is made by Krylon, but
there are other makers. You can get it at art supply
stores and craft stores. Just lay the feather on a
piece of cardboard and lightly spray both sides.
