Hi Joyce, New books take the sting out of some of those long nights. This winter will be a good one, thanks to the incredible new book that I just received as a gift on Monday. It's "Trout and Salmon of North America" by Robert Behnke, with illustrations by Joe Tomelleri. All you folks who love quality books are in for a huge treat. The text is authoritative, the drawings are stunning, and the layout is gorgeous. You may be getting the feeling that I like this one(!).
It might be thorough enough to use as a textbook, including great drawings of extinct species. Check it out, you won't be disappointed. Another book I recently got that I like a lot is Ian Moutter's "Tying Flies the Paraloop Way". This one doesn't share the same book-production values, but his technique is intriguing and his thoughts about the sport are well stated. Having read it through twice (while finishing up several swap commitments) I'm looking forward to experimenting with the method starting this weekend.
