Hardwood with dove tailed joints, brass hinges and lock.
Look at junk shops, flea markets, car boot sales for "Old Cutlery Canteens". These were made to hold sets of good quality dining cutlery and or meat carving sets. Strip the inside and reline with foam sheet.
I dont carry these around, but they make beautiful display cases.
I pay from 5 to ten pounds each.
