thanks for the reply
but the name is spelt eddie, not eddy
sorry, that just makes me mad.
and as for your posts about the dry fly kit, You are right in a sense, this being a fly tying community, it seems that the interest wouldn't be that high, however Jack is right, some people dont like tying dry's for various reasons, and stick to nymphs and streamers and the like. Not trying to cause any problems between anyone, but I think its cool that people will sell flies instead of having to swap them. This way, the quality is the same, and sure, your paying for the flies, but your not tying flies for the other person like in a swap. I dunno...just thought this was worth mentioning...I love this site and think the swaps are great, but I dont really care much for tying drys, so think the kit is a wonderful idea.

Eddy,
If the tandem flies you've seen and tied are minnow patterns, their use is
for areas where fish feed on schools of minnows. This is a broad spectrum
of fishing, but rarely a tactic for stream or creek fishing. It is also
very popular in salt water, where schools of baitfish predominate the food
chain for many game species. Try them in lakes where bass feed on shiners.
Tie small ones with marabou tails and fish them around submerged trees and
snags for crappie. I received a couple of neat tandems in fly swaps, but
they don't get fished, they get saved.

Subject: [VFB] Tandem Flies
Hey List,
I recently(as in last night) saw in a book on how to tie tandem flies. I
have seen these flies before, and always wanted to tie one. The book showed
me how, and it turns out it wasnt as hard as it seems. I've tied 2
different patterns and they look really good. My Questoin(s) is this. What
do you guys use these flies for? I dont think that my size 2 front hook will
look very good in the local brook trout stream around here. And is anyone
interested in swapping flies? maybe not a big time swap, unless there is
some interest. If anyone is interested in swapping tandem flies, then
contact me off list at [EMAIL PROTECTED] If more then 4 people
contact me then i'll organize a swap. I think these flies are really cool
to tie, and they look awesome. Thanks everyone
-Eddie D
