With all the "Rain" we have had over the last few weeks farming has been
totally screwed up and I haven't gotten more than 10 hours this month, Been
spending my time between showers working on the house and we can move in as
soon as we get propane, so something good has come of it.
Had to go to Carlsbad today for a doctors appointment and on the way
home was looking at the lake. Remembered that I had my "Bag" and fly rod in
the cab behind the seat and decided that I deserved a little break. Turned
around and went down to the dam pool and tied on a # 14 "Lacewing" and
started working the water. In less then 20 minutes I had caught 15 blue
gill. After a few more I had a read good hit and worked in a 12" largemouth.
About then the rain returned with a vengeance and decided I had better get
out of here while the roads were still solid.
After the little joy I got to have I spent the rest of the day finishing
up things on the house and just resting a bit. Doc says I "have" to slow
down or risk the consequences. At least I can still fly fish.
Have a good one folks and enjoy the day.
