Hi Bill, I checked with my local fly shop and was told that they would sell me one for that same money so what you are getting is some level of satisfaction but apparently no bargain. TU has offered some really spectacular deals in the past and I have taken them up on a couple. This reel just doesn't measure up--at least not for me. My two cents worth..........Doyle
