Well folks, I have about 15 signed up on the recipe swap with a total count of about 20 recipes in or due so far. Several desert recipes, some fish recipes, a spicy hot pickle recipe, an "Excellent" sounding stew and a few more, ( some are comming by snale mail).
I would like to encourage everyone on the list to contribute some of your favorite recipes. I would like to get some more main dish recipes, ( Stews, Chile, Backed entrees etc.). Also I would like to get some bread, roll and pastry recipes. Also, if anyone has any particular stories about "Camp Cooking", humorous or otherwise I would like to include them as well, ( Jimmy, Don O, Bart ?? Anyone ?? Hint Hint Hint ). I plan on putting in a set of instructions for building my old "Chuck Box". It had seen so many trips and was indispensable. Dose anyone have any other plans or items they have built that have become a part of your camping, cooking and outing lives ? What I am hoping to do is fill at least 100 pages with recipes and notes and illustrations to make it truly an official VFB recipe book that not only shares the fellowship and camaraderie of the group but sparks memories on a cold winter night by the fire. I have an idea for the title, " Glowing Coals and Full Tummies, The art of eating well in the outdoors", or something like that. This is not going to be a simple collection of things to eat, I want it to be a very professionally done piece of work. The group have given my daughter wife and myself so much that I would like to give back something to express my gratitude. Looking forward to more participants. Jimi, AKA Walleye Man
