Just got off the phone with my friend Jack. He told me that they will start
stocking the Battan Lake portion of the river with trout November the 1st.
Everyone fishes for these trout with either power bait, salmon eggs or worms
and say that they can't be caught on flies or artificial's of any type.

I was wondering if anyone has any experience with fly fishing for stocked
trout and if so could you suggest some patterns ? About the water, it is
always off color, sorta a muddy green and the visibility is only about 8 to
10 inches on a good day. It is slow fairly deep water with one dam at the
beginning of it and a constant flow over it. I find it hard to believe that
they can't be caught on flies, but I could be wrong.

Any suggestions or recipes would be appreciated.
Jimi
