Tiers who play down the importance of wings on smaller size flies
are generally the same tiers who struggle with incorporating wings
on small size flies. The argument of "the fish don't care" is a cop-out
Personally I have trouble with wings ....PERIOD! On a #20-#12, I have a hard time with them. I usually omit wings either way. I do para- post though, does that count?
BTW, now that I have a few decent hackles for dries from an online friend (thank you!) I can now tie dries that float somewhat! I just need a bit more practice.
