Hi. I'm S. Junaid Hassan replying to the carp question. Use small scud patterns or other nymph patterns fish would grub up from the bottom. But BE PREPARED!! Carp will break a 10 weight rod. One broke mine and my heart but when i pulled him in by pulling the line itself, the !@#*! weighed only 6 pounds!! I was using 12 pound tippet, but the rod got bent nevertheless and broke.

No I didn't catch them on a fly Jimi. I fished fir carp in disused gravel
pits and used bread, worms, breadcrust  etc for bait. Did a fair amount of
night fishing.
