I have a set I use for making wings out of Scintilla Film Wing and similar products. Makes a nice uniform set of wings I just can't seem to get with a pair of scissors. Don't try folding the material and doing both sides at the same time, though, it just fuses the edges and you get one extra thick wing.

Though I do not use burners, one can get consistent results that are

I use wing burners quit often on nymphs and mayflies. For mayflies I
like the Streamlife Innovations Wing Burners and
for nymphs I use the Renzetti wing burners. I have found the results to
be very satisfactory. The smell of burning
feathers can be offensive to some. If this is the case go out to the
garage or out of doors. I prepare the sets of
feathers and burn them all in one session. I have used nail clippers and
scissors to trim feathers and this is also
satisfactory but I find it a little difficult to get the symmetry I am
looking for with his method.

Mel
