[VFB] Quill Bodies / dyed

Hello All ,                                                                   
                                                    I am ready to start tying 
up some mayflies for Spring....blue qills , ginger quills, etc. and I am 
interesed in dying some herl. I am thinking of lightly bleaching peacock herl 
and then dying it to the color of choice. Would this work? I am sure there is 
a better way.  Any input would be appreciated.
