Hey, Ken. Just a note on the post you made a few days ago. Its basicly unrelated to fly fishing, but that soft gel they use in candles can catch fire. My fiance used to be pretty into making candles and she told me about that one time. Also, they smell like burning plastic.
Just wanted to offer a couple of ideas! I just haven't found the size I'm looking for yet; most of the ones I've found so far (as pointed out in another post) are appropriate for baseballs & such. I was in my local Outdoor World last night and I saw a fly candle. It was a glass jar with rocks covering the bottom. It was filled with that clear, candle gel and a fly was suspended in it. Looked pretty neat. Probably wouldn't be too hard to make one. Any craft store like Michaels, MJDesigns, etc. carry inexpensive shadow boxes. Helluva lot easier than making them and not much more cost.
