I'm in, Jimi
OK, With the vfb rope-dub page, the mpeg, and a year to work on it, plus the new Whiting hackles delivered, I'm going to host my first swap. It IS different. Name: DonO's Rope-dub Swap 20 tiers, 21 flies required ( 1ea. for me and 1 ea. for Byard). You'll receive 19 flies back. Due date: May 1st- enough time for Co op #2 to complete. Can extend. Flies: Dry or wet- must incorporate any style of segmented rope-dubbing, fuzzy or clean. Any type of dubbing is acceptable, but tougher dubbings will get extra points. Roping on a Knor-vise is acceptable, but must be so noted on the flies. All flies must be toe-tagged with the type of dubbing used- that's all, plus, of course, your name and the name of your creation. Other details of shipping, postage, etc. will be handled off vfb. What's new... Along with getting back an assortment of styles and ties- which makes it worth it to enter... This swap will be judged. I will pick a winner based on the overall quality, consistency, and innovation of the roping technique used. One rule: dubbing segmentation must be visible. Prizes: 1st place will receive a show-mouse 2nd place will receive a 14/0 Monster Muddler rear-view mirror hanger-fly 3rd place will receive a realistic stonefly So there are NO losers! Everybody at least gets their swap flies and new ideas. If anyone wants to get in, but needs help, there's plenty of time. I've roped every dubbing/fur in my entire collection, and it all works. So if you want to send me a sample of the dubbing you want to work with, I'll rope it for you and return it as a sample to tie from. Who's interested? DonO
