None of the pike were big, up to 4.5lbs or so, but great fun, got numerous takes aswell, found it hard to hit them right,first 5 cast's missed four fish, wasn't expecting it to be that good on a new area..
I walked passed an area i thought was too shallow beside a lock gate, i told a couple of lads to try the area 2 days later, they had one take a fish 14 + pounds, his first on the fly right under a small overhanging tree beside the gate, the lad with him missed it first then lost his fly as his swivel clasp opened, shris fired his fly in and wallop all hell broke loose and the rest is history..I won't be so quick to cover as much water as i normally do in future..
oh ye what day suits for your good lady wife to let u out fishing wth me..lol..The joys of marraige..
