Back in the Dark Ages I read an article on the relative buoyancy of fly tying hairs. Been so long ago, I don't remember the details...and I don't have an appropriate book to look this up.

If you were to rank the following hairs according to how well they float, what would the ranking be?

Deer
Elk
Caribou
Any other good ones?

Also are there any variations in floatability between different types of, say, deer hair. (Coastal deer hair, deer belly, deer body, comparadun hair, etc.)

Thanks for the benefit of your experience.
