Received my plucking assignment Saturday. Got 'em all ready to mail now.
Don't think I would like that as a full time job, but the reward of this
swap is sure worth it. The Midge Brown saddle looked more like thick thread
than hackle. I measured some on my hackle gauge (mind you it is a cheap
one -- any suggestions on a GOOD gauge). Any way it goes down to size 22
and some of the hackles didn't come close to that. Dr. Whiting sure has
done a great job.

As far a static goes -- I'm to cheap to buy static guard. I mix just a
little "downy" (my wife never misses it) in a spray bottle with water. This
works great on every static situation I have come across. For the hackle
DON'T spray it on the saddle but spray it the air and then wave the hackle
through the mist. Took only 1 shot of the spray bottle last night and left
no oder on the feathers. Learned this trick from some computer geeks I
know.
