I won't go over old ground but will make a couple of additional points: 1) although some recommend whitetail mask hair for Comparaduns, I have not found this to be very good. Once again we are talking about the masks I have seen. The mask hair has very little pith and so does not flair well at all. Instead it ties more like squirrel tail than deer body hair. 2) caribou body hair is an excellent floater but has several drawbacks - the first is that it is quite soft and so easy to cut with thread under tension; the second is that it isn't available in the range of lengths that deer body hair is.
