In looking through the web pages about crayfish patterns, I came upon this interesting one.

I like the comments and reasoning about most crayfish patterns being too large, especially for early season fishing when fish aren't distracted by other plentiful food sources. For my purposes, I will experiment tying a Whitlock Near Nuff in very small sizes and give them a 'crawl'.
