I have an 8 wt rod i bought for bass fishing. You know heavy enough to turn over deer
hair bugs. But, I do not always fish deer hair bugs for basss, more like clousers.
Anyway my next smallest rod is a 5 wt. My 8 wt feels like a workout when i am done,
it is real heavy to cast and kind of cumbersome. I am wondering if i should go to a 7
wt or a 6 wt. When I say bass fishing I mean that I will be smallie fishing in
streams with clousers and largemouth fishing throwing clousers, gulley worms and
popper bugs at docks and other structure. What do you folks think ? a 7 or 6 wt?
And if anyone is interested I have an 8 wt floating line I could trade for a 7wt
floating line.
