Hey Folks,
I was check the Message board on a Southern California Saltwater flyfishing site , seeing what places were happening for Surf flyfishing tomorrow. I decideed to check of any new photos were posted...nothing new lately.
Then I thought that some of you would like to see nice photos of some of the various Species of fish we SOCAL folks can catch on flies in the Surf Zone...
The BARRED SURF PERCH tends to be the most common species you hook up with in the SoCal surf zone... Like Bluegill on Steroids!!!! Some folks belittle "BSPs" but I love their determined fights...

The CALIFORNIA HALIBUT are starting to come into the shallows & the Surf zone to wait for the "Birthing Time" of the Barred Surf Perch. BSPs give live birth to their offspring & the little Babies are always high on the Halibut's eating list this time of year....

You will see these "Surf Ghosts" working the surf zone in just inches of waters, tracking in to locate the Sandcrab beds...you have to be soo stealthy in your approach & cast to these fish...they See EVERYTHING You do... Hooked & landed my first one last June, about 4 lbs. according to my Surf Guru LEE B. afterwards I hooked into 3 others but they farmed me in a Hurry...I'm going after them this coming season big Time... Here's a Very good photo of the CORBINA....
