Sounds like a very interesting fly, and something I could quite possibly use out here (as that's about where or winter water temps tend to stay).
 
Tell me though, will ya be using your own collie dog for the materials, Or borrowing a neighbors? ;^ )

I will be tying the local version of the Collie Dog.  
Out of deference to the yanks who look sideways at  
treble hooks, i will be tying on single salmon hooks.  
This fly is ofton ignored for more elaberate patterns,  
usually to the loss of the angler, as it is one of the  
best flies for water over 40 degrees.  
The wing should be tied LONG and lightly.
