Hi John,

No Graeme here, but my two (Euro) cents:

While you can bend the hook (as HvK originally did anyway) you may 
want to tie KS(-style) flies using fine wire scud hooks. This is my 
approach and I like the results.

You may also want to check out (use Google for url) the Trighammer 
hooks marketed by Steve Parton in the UK. They are close copies of 
the Partridge hooks with the pre-bent shank.
