Hi John,
yes I believe its that hook. It is a gray shadow hook because its slippery
enough to tie on. Please wait till I get home from work to check on the
actual number. I'll let you know if my memory is wrong.
All the best
Graeme.

Graeme-

Are you using the Partridge GRS15ST hook?

Hi John,
I am using the Partridge hooks. They are a little on the big side. I have
them down to size 18, and would appreciate the contact info. for a supplier.
Do they make this particular hook in smaller sizes?
I have tried bending hooks with varying degrees of success. Some fly tyers
recomend heating the hook before bending. I have not tried this. I find if I
use needle nose pliers and do not stress the hook too much I can induce a
reasonable bend.
I much prefer manufactured hooks and the Partridge hooks you mention are the
perfect shape. I know the original fly was designed to be on a large hook.
My requirements are for a smaller hook.
All the best
Graeme.

Hey Graeme. Quick question about these flies. Are you using Partridge's
Klinkhammer hooks or are you bending a standard type hook? My local shop
has had a great deal of difficulty locating a supplier who stocks the
Klinkhammer hooks, so I'm thinking of bending some up myself, but I don't
know how to ensure that this doesn't screw with the temper of the hook too
much.

John

Hi Dono,
I've just seen Joe's Klinkhamer in Jimmy's Desk swap. It reminded me that
thats the fly - olive Klinkhamer - I intend to tie for your rope-dub swap.I
hope mine turn out like Joe's.
All the best
Graeme
