John, In North American tying the use of CdL is quite recent, and mostly limited to tails on dries. In Spain and France, where the material has a long history, it is used for hackling and winging. Cheers, Hans PS There is a nice CdL piece in the March 2003 issue of Flyfisherman magazine.
