i got my olive color by starting with yellow first, only because i finished a batch of yellow, then decided to experiment ,i have a green wich is called kellygreen this was in the liquid form as well as the yellow i slowly added the kelly green ithink iused 2ounces of yellow -2quarts of water then added pretty close to a ounce of kelly green it is a verry nice olive color i think to darken it up i would probably add a small amount brown and maybbe a little more green but all i can say is do a little expperimenting. for my dun color i just used 2ounces of brown and just a small amount of royal blueprobably half a tbl spoon -2and a half qts of water.my samples were small so i could get a lot done what ever i wanted dyed i just threw in the pot the rabbit i added last , the deer hair took th elongest, i also threw in some turkey wing feathers and they turned out great.
bye the way ... i was following a truck today and then feathers was flying everywhere, the guy in the truck smacked a turkey.. my lucky day.. i grabbed a wing and the complete tail section...so if any one wants feathers let me know

What colors would you combine for a dark olive -- green and brown?-Ken------ Original Message -----From: bradley robinsonSent: Thursday, February 27, 2003 4:07 PMSubject: [VFB] rit dyeing was a successwell i did it,
no messes, and no trouble with the wife. i must say every thing turned out well. i stuck to the basic colors for now . yellow, red, brown, experimented with mixing a little and turned out a nice olive and a dun color. the rit was relatively cheap.easy to do. i also broke down and bought a blender for the fur , i am having some fun now.i dyed up some hackle, fox, squirrel, deer hair, rabbitand some calf tails. i also tried to die poly yarn with no luck. i guess i will have to buy the colors i need for that,it is a bit tricky to blend the polyyarn but i managed to get it down pat .
I want to thank everyone for helping me out with this endeavor, well im gonna go see what i can scrounge up next to dye
thanks so much everyone
