Hi Soren, I simply can not resist your offer. I also trace my ancestry back
to the Vikings and in particular to a fellow that was hired by King Edward
The Confessor, king of England about 1130 AD to guard the northern border
against the Scots. His wages included a Barony which he called " Castle
Sowerby". I believe that he was a Viking Nobleman / King and I believe his
name was "Alrick"
At any rate I would love to have my name spelled out in Runes i.e.,
"Doyle T. Sowerby owns me". If my entire name is too long I will gladly
accept just "Doyle" Thank you ----very much.

Subject: [VFB] Language of the vikings
Hi list,
the other day I happend to read an article about the Vikings and their
script language "Runes" which was designed for engraving in stone, bone and
wood. I thought it could be interesting to use it for marking my knives,
rods and so on so I tried to spell my name with it. Then I saw at a
specialist webpage that the Vikings always marked their belongings with the
text ".......... owns me" which in their language was "........... a mik".
Attached you can see the runes for "Soren owns me". Should any of you be
interested to see your own name in Runic characters just mail and Ill make
a translation.
Greetings from the land of Vikings
Soren
